Besides Medieval chanting and Jazz-core we will present our Live-Cinema set Difrakti at Poortgebouw. On the 11th of June around 21:00 this is all happening in the Stieltjesstraat 38, Rotterdam.

For the Zinder Festival, which is held in Stella theater in The Hague, we gave Unidentified a major upgrade. The festival is running till 6-5-2010.

We are very pleased to announce the premiere of our new performance Difrakti at the Wired Festival.

For the E-Pulse Festival we were invited to participate with two installations and a live performance. The HRT001 and the Change_Sound_Reaction1.2 will be part of the expo. On the openingsnight (15 October) we will perform Diagonaal.

Een festival vol interactieve kunst, e-movies en podiumexperimenten met aandacht voor de nieuwe beeldcultuur, audiovisueel design en de ontwikkelingen op het worldwideweb.

Macular will perform Diagonaal at Discovery09 which is held on the 25th of September at the NEMO in Amsterdam. Discovery09 is an event that combines science with art and music. During the evening live science experiments will be conducted along with VJ performances, lectures and music by the likes of C-Mon & Kypski, Baskerville and Missing Links.

On the 3rd of April we will perform Diagonaal at the STRP Festival. We will play at 23:30 in the STRP_LAB.

The STRP Festival is one of the largest art & technology festivals in Europe and the mix of music, art & technology makes it unique. The multidisciplinary programme appeals to a wide audience. The focus during the opening weekend in 2009 is on impact and experience, while the second part will concentrate on delving deeper, amazement and quieting down. In addition to the festival, the STRP Foundation also organised the 5MM (five minute museum) in cooperation with Eindhoven’s MU art space.

Zaterdag, 28 maart 2009 vindt voor de eerste keer de Noorderlicht_010 manifestatie plaats onder het viaduct bij Busstation Rotterdam Noord. Als de zon onder gaat om 19:09 uur begint de fantasmagorie der lichtbronnen en deze duurt tot 01:00 uur.

In samenwerking met Rotterdam Idee, SBAW en de Deelgemeente Rotterdam Noord wordt door middel van lichtbeelden onder een viaduct een aftrap gegeven voor onderzoek naar een nieuwe podiumplek in Rotterdam. Het evenement vindt plaats onder het viaduct bij Busstation Noord. Een aantal groene laserlijnen definiëren een plein waar meerdere lichtvoorstellingen plaatsvinden. Het geheel wordt ondersteund door locatiekunstenaars, performers en muziek. In combinatie met het projecteren van beelden krijgt het plein als Gesamtkunstwerk betekenis. Op deze transferplek verbinden de lasers samen met andere projecties letterlijk de kolommen en kapitelen met passanten en bezoekers. Een en ander vindt plaats in samenwerking met atelierruimte Kunst-Rotterdam Noord waarbij de programmering aansluiting vindt met de buitenexpositie.

Het ‘environment’ of de omgevingssculptuur is de kunstzinnige vormgeving van een bepaalde ruimte, zoals een kamer, theater, straat of plein, waarbij verschillende materialen, bewegingen, klank, licht en andere communicatiemiddelen een rol spelen. Een installatie is een vorm van ‘environment’, een tijdelijk opgebouwde constructie ter verbijzondering van de plek en ter verwondering van de bezoeker.

Het initiatief moet gezien worden als een experiment en heeft als doel:
- Rotterdam een jaarlijks terugkerend evenement te geven, waar de creatieve geest zijn gezicht kan laten zien;
- een permanent lichtplan op locatie als juweel voor de stad.

Artiesten die hieraan meewerken zijn o.a.:
Co2Ro (laserbeeld, optikinetics, led pixel installation), Jamata  (Reach Visuals, VMS, live), Outoforder (lichtmixing, live), Toysfornoise (diabeeld live), Eye-Ball (no-disco, laserbeeld), Macular (lichtlijnmixing, live + installatie),
Vj Lennart (beaming, live), Arjan Hebly (architect, lichtorgel), Alex Strik (vuurorgel),
Marjolijn Guldemond (installatie inflatable void), Anton Abbes (heart of the sun),
Geert Limburg (Sideshow), Carlo van Driel (atelier Kunst Rotterdam Noord, compilatie VHS festival).

Naast t’ Licht geven ook diverse geluidmagiërs acte de présence, zoals Just_So_Nah, Co2Ro, Spindocter Ries en Benjamin Elshout. Hun soundscapes in de achtergrond completeren het gesamtkunstwerk!
Alle deelnemers van dit unieke festival vullen de ruimte onder het viaduct en transformeren deze met hun visuals, decors en performances.

Macular will be participating in the Noorderlicht / Viaduct van de Verbeeldingskracht event at the Busstation Noord in Rotterdam. This is part of the 2009 Youth Capital of Europe programme by the city of Rotterdam.

Diagonaal will be performed live at the Seeder electronic arts event at De Fabriek on the 20th of December.

During the month of November an installation by Macular will be exhibited at the Bouwhouse event at the RAC Hallen in The Hague. The installation will be open to the public during the weekends.
